Turnpike Commission approves 5 percent toll rate increase for 2023
Fox43.com - August 2, 2022 -Tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike are going up.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) on Tuesday approved a 5% toll increase for 2023 for all E-ZPass and Toll By Plate customers.
The new rates will take effect across the toll-highway system at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2023, the PTC said in a press release.
Because of today's action, the most-common toll for a passenger vehicle next year will increase from $1.70 to $1.80 for E-ZPass customers and from $4.10 to $4.40 for Toll By Plate customers.
The most-common toll for a Class-5 tractor-trailer will increase from $13.70 to $14.40 for E-ZPass and from $28 to $29.40 for Toll By Plate. Read more >>

Nassau County Bridge Authority disbands Citizens' Committee
liherald.com - July 28, 2022 -The Nassau County Bridge Authority has disbanded the Atlantic Beach Bridge Citizens' Committee, a group of village residents formed in January that aimed to reimagine the bridge's nearly 70-year-old, 11-lane toll plaza and consider the best way to make use of the authority's $5 million budget for the project.
The authority is now considering adding E-ZPass technology to the bridge.
"It was time for a modernization," NCBA executive director Vincent Grasso said of the toll plaza, which has been deteriorating in recent months. Read more >>

New York moving ahead with 'congestion pricing' toll plan
abcnews.go.com - July 27, 2022 - New York is inching toward becoming the first U.S. city to charge motorists an extra fee for entering its most congested areas.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Wednesday a long-delayed environmental assessment should be released by federal regulators next month, to be followed by public hearings. Legislation would prevent PennDOT from imposing new bridge tolls
Pennbizreport.com - July 11, 2022 -The state Senate recently passed legislation that would prevent the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) from imposing new tolls on existing bridges with a Public-Private Transportation Partnership (P3).
Senate Bill 382 was amended to include a bipartisan compromise and avoid Gov. Tom Wolf vetoing the bill.
Under the bill, PennDOT would be required to publish a detailed analysis and distribute a copy of the P3 Board's resolution. A 30-day public comment period would be required before the P3 Board's voting meeting.
The bill also gives the General Assembly more time to assess any transportation projects passed by the P3 Board. Read more >>

How Massachusetts drivers can use E-ZPass to save 30 cents per gallon on gas for summer
WCVB.com - July 3, 2022 -Massachusetts drivers with an E-ZPass have an opportunity to save big at the gas pump for the rest of the summer.
Through PayByCar, drivers can save 30 cents per gallon on gas at 27 participating Alltown Mobil stations in Massachusetts. The limited-time discount started on Sunday and lasts through Labor Day.
PayByCar, Inc., a Boston-based company, offered a similar 30 cents per gallon discount to customers who enrolled between Dec. 13, 2021, and Feb. 10, 2022. That discount will be offered on purchases of up to 20 gallons per visit and up to five visits. Read more >>
